Expressions of Interest for membership of pharmacy programme (MPharm) accreditation teams

As part of our role to set standards for pharmacist education and training, we establish accreditation teams to evaluate and review national pharmacy degree programmes through an accreditation process. We are now seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals to participate on these accreditation teams through the establishment of a panel.

About accreditation teams

Under the PSI’s (Education and Training) (Integrated Course) Rules 2014, the PSI Council appoints accreditation teams, to evaluate a pharmacy programme (MPharm). The role of the accreditation teams is to evaluate an application for accreditation and continued accreditation against the PSI Accreditation Standards, and make a recommendation to the Council of the PSI on whether or not it should accredit the programme.

Accreditation team members must have certain knowledge, skills and competencies to complete this important work. Applicants are asked to briefly describe how they meet the competencies that are needed of accreditation teams. These include:

  • Knowledge, expertise or experience in particular areas  
  • Decision making skills 
  • Communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Teamwork Public values

If you are interested in becoming a member of the accreditation panel, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please read the information booklet which will provide you with further details about the role, the accreditation process, the required experience, and time commitment and remuneration.

If you wish to apply to be part of the accreditation panel, please complete this application form and return by e-mail to: andrea.boland@psi.ie no later than 5pm on Friday, 14 June 2024.

We will review applications against the desired competencies outlined in the information booklet. Please note that appointment to the panel does not guarantee that you will be nominated to an accreditation team.
