What is the purpose of the Accreditation Standards for CPD Programmes and Courses for Pharmacists?
The Accreditation Standards for CPD Programmes and Courses for Pharmacists are designed to assure the quality of CPD programmes which require accreditation.
The five standards are as follows:
- Standard 1: Governance and Quality
- Standard 2: Content
- Standard 3: Delivery
- Standard 4: Assessment
- Standard 5: Evaluation

The process of evaluating compliance against the accreditation standards for programmes of CPD is carried out by the Irish Institute of Pharmacy (IIOP), on behalf of the PSI. The process is set out in detail in the IIOP Process for Accreditation of CPD Programmes.
